Involved in the practice of Transfusion Medicine and Haematology since 1983,
initially in the UK and more recently in New Zealand . My interest in transfusion
initially related to blood safety and quality systems. During the last 5 years
in NZ this has however broadened.
I am keen to see a multidisciplinary approach to improving the overall quality
of practice of transfusion. This should, as far as possible be evidence based.
I believe that the ANZSBT has a real opportunity to take a professional leadership
in this area and am keen to promote this as the newly-elected President.
