| I am currently a
Transfusion Nurse with the Australian Red Cross Blood
Service (ARCBS), Melbourne Victoria.
I have worked in a variety of clinical settings within South Australia
and Victoria, most recently as a Transfusion Nurse at Peter MacCallum
Cancer Centre and prior to that as the IVIg Nurse Consultant for
South Australia.
As the co-opted nurse practitioner I plan to promote the role and
interests of Transfusion Nurse Practitioners within the council.
My areas of interest include transfusion medicine, practice improvement,
haemovigilance, intravenous immunoglobulin and education. I am
passionate about providing staff with information to appropriately
use blood
and blood products.
I am currently studying for my Masters in Health Administration
at La Trobe University.
I am a member of Cancer Nurses Society of Australia (CNSA), Associate
member of Clinical Oncology Society of Australia (COSA) and Associate
member of the Australian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy
(ASCIA).
